Scoutloop is operated by Adanac Alpine Advisory Inc., a company incorporated under the laws of British Columbia, Canada. In these Terms, “Scoutloop”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Adanac Alpine Advisory Inc. The service is available at scoutloop.me and related domains and applications that we operate.

By creating an account, accessing, or using Scoutloop, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use Scoutloop.
Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal information and is incorporated into these Terms.
You must be at least the age of majority in your province or territory of residence (19 in British Columbia), or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to use Scoutloop. You may not use the service if we have suspended or terminated your account.
When you create an account you are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must not share your login credentials or allow others to access your account. Please provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
You agree to use Scoutloop only for lawful purposes. Your use of the service is at your own risk, and you agree not to:
Scoutloop is a situational-awareness tool designed to assist with backcountry trip planning in British Columbia. You can save trip plans, generate condition briefings, and — if you enable monitoring — receive alerts about changing conditions for your planned dates via the notification channels you choose (email or Telegram).
Monitoring and check-in features are best-effort and are not continuous, real-time, or guaranteed. Alerts may be delayed, missed, or based on incomplete or stale data. Scoutloop does not notify emergency services, search and rescue, or your contacts on your behalf — you remain responsible for communicating your plans and any emergency to the people and authorities you choose.
Scoutloop lets you share a trip plan with others through a short-lived invite link, for example so a contact can see where you plan to be. Anyone with a valid link can view that trip plan without an account until the link expires or you revoke it.
You choose what information to share and with whom. We are not responsible for how recipients use, retain, or further share information that you chose to send them.
Scoutloop aggregates data from third-party sources and provides it for informational purposes only. We make no warranties, express or implied, about the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any information presented.
Scoutloop is NOT a navigation tool. It must not replace topographic maps, a GPS device, or official avalanche bulletins. Backcountry conditions change rapidly. Always verify information with authoritative sources before entering the backcountry, and be prepared to turn back if conditions differ from any briefing.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scoutloop is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, including any warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or availability.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Adanac Alpine Advisory Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — including any decisions made, or activities undertaken, in reliance on information provided by Scoutloop. Where liability cannot be excluded, our aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid to use Scoutloop in the twelve months before the claim, or C$0 for free users. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
As between you and us, Scoutloop — including its software, design, branding, and the content we publish on the service (other than your data) — is owned by Adanac Alpine Advisory Inc. or its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Scoutloop for your personal, non-commercial trip planning, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease the service or its content except as expressly permitted.
Your trip plans and the information you enter remain yours. By using the service, you grant us a limited licence to host, process, display, and transmit your data solely to provide the service to you (and to the recipients you share with), as described in our Privacy Policy.
Scoutloop integrates with third-party data sources and service providers, including government agencies, mapping and weather providers, and infrastructure providers. These services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices, and we do not control them. Your use of Scoutloop may depend on the continued availability of these third-party services.
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law) will continue to apply.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted to this page with an updated date. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you, such as by email or a notice within the service. Continued use of Scoutloop after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia for any dispute arising out of these Terms or the service, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws where you reside provide otherwise.
