What We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. When you use Scoutloop, we store the destinations and trips you search for so we can surface your history and saved trips. We do not collect payment information.

We may collect basic usage data (pages visited, feature interactions) to improve the service. This data is not linked to personally identifiable information.

How We Use It

Your data is used solely to provide and improve Scoutloop — authenticating your account, saving your trips, and personalising your experience. We do not sell your personal data to third parties or use it for advertising.

Third-Party Data Sources

Scoutloop fetches publicly available data from Open-Meteo, Avalanche Canada, DriveBC, BC Wildfire Service, and BC Parks. Your search queries may be forwarded to these services to retrieve relevant conditions. We do not share your account information with them.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and saved trips will be removed within 30 days. Anonymised usage logs may be retained longer for analytical purposes.

Your Rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. You may also export your saved trips from the Settings page. To exercise these rights, contact us using the link below.
